On August 6, Tegeta Green Planet, Tegeta Academy and the Legal Entity of Public Law under the Ministry of Justice of Georgia - the Center for Vocational Training and Retraining of Convicts - signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The memorandum aims to support the rehabilitation and full integration of convicts and former prisoners into society, while also raising their environmental awareness and strengthening personal development and social responsibility.
Within the framework of the cooperation, the parties will jointly plan and implement educational, informational, awareness-raising and practical activities focused on environmental protection, ecological responsibility and sustainable development.
Within its competence and capabilities, Tegeta Green Planet will support the planning of relevant environmental activities for target groups, facilitate thematic educational and, where appropriate, employment programs, and organize informational meetings.
Tegeta Academy will also play an important role in the cooperation. Taking into account professions available in the automotive sector, the Academy will support the delivery of certificate programs and short-term training courses, as well as, where appropriate, facilitate employment opportunities.
For its part, the Center for Vocational Training and Retraining of Convicts will support the provision of information to target groups about relevant educational and employment preparation programs, encourage participants’ engagement and help create an appropriate learning environment.
The cooperation outlined in the memorandum is based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, good faith, a non-discriminatory approach and zero tolerance for stigmatization.
Tegeta Green Planet, Tegeta Academy and the Center for Vocational Training and Retraining of Convicts will cooperate for a period of one year and, within their respective capabilities, will jointly plan and implement projects and activities.
The memorandum represents another important step toward turning environmental education, professional development and social reintegration into interconnected and practical opportunities.
